The short version

Three things to keep in view

1

Prioritise identity documents, health-fund access, banking and official contact details.

2

Use temporary housing to learn an area before making a long commitment where possible.

3

Keep UK and Israeli paperwork together until tax, pension and account transitions are stable.

01

Arrival / first day and first 72 hours

  • Check all documents and names issued during arrival processing.
  • Confirm how and when you must complete health-fund registration.
  • Make sure you can receive official SMS messages and access email securely.
  • Store passports and original civil documents safely; carry copies for routine errands.
02

First two weeks

  • Complete health-fund onboarding and understand urgent-care options.
  • Open the bank account required for official payments, if applicable.
  • Book or contact your absorption adviser.
  • Start a written list of appointments, reference numbers and follow-ups.
03

First three months

  • Set up a realistic Hebrew-learning plan.
  • Check professional licensing before accepting role-specific promises.
  • Review school, childcare and commute assumptions after living the routine.
  • Revisit UK tax residence, mail, accounts and pension administration with your advisers.

Emergency planning

Follow Home Front Command and local-authority instructions in Israel, and check FCDO advice when travel plans change. Keep medicines, documents, chargers and family contact details accessible.
