Understand the options
Israel includes state secular, state religious and other educational settings. Availability, admissions and the relationship with a residential address can vary. Ask each school how it supports new immigrant pupils rather than relying on a general label.
Documents to bring
- Recent school reports and a summary of subjects, levels and teaching language.
- GCSE, A-level or other exam entries, predicted grades and completed results.
- Educational-psychology, therapy, support-plan and special educational needs records.
- Vaccination and health information requested through the current registration process.
- Custody, guardianship and parental-consent records where relevant.
British curriculum transitions
- Map completed work against the Israeli year group and planned examinations.
- For teenagers, ask how credits, matriculation, English and missing subject content will be handled.
- Discuss whether repeating, accelerating or mixing courses is actually in the child’s interests.
- Plan how British qualifications will be completed or evidenced if the move falls mid-course.
- Request written confirmation of important placement decisions.
Hebrew and pastoral support
Ask how many hours of Hebrew support are available, who coordinates new-Olim support and how progress is reviewed. Also ask about friendships, trips, parent communication and the child’s emotional adjustment.
University and higher education
Admission, qualification recognition, preparatory study and financial assistance depend on the institution and current Student Authority rules. Ask for a personal review before relying on an online equivalence.
