The UK-to-Israel lens

Prepare UK documents without over-ordering

1

Use the request in your Aliyah file as the working list and keep a copy of every upload and confirmation.

2

Check names, dates and relationships across UK certificates before legalisation or translation.

3

Use the UK Legalisation Office only when the recipient has said a document must be legalised.

What do I actually need to do today?

Start with the request for your own file.

Build my personalised Tik plan

Answer general questions about your household and records. The private planner will organise likely preparation topics without asking for names, passport numbers or document uploads.

1

Open the latest written request for your own file.

2

List each requested item and the person it relates to.

3

Confirm the exact version, date, translation and legalisation requirements before ordering.

4

Upload through the official portal and save the confirmation.

Tick documents off as you gather them. Mark conditional items as not needed so the progress reflects your circumstances.

Identity

Start with the identity documents for every person included in the application.

Civil status

Use the records that explain your current name, relationships and any previous status.

Eligibility and family evidence

The exact evidence depends on the legal route and the facts of the family.

Checks before submission

Confirm the format before spending money on replacements, translations or legalisation.

This is a planning aid, not an official or complete requirements list. Your case team’s current written instructions control. Do not order, translate or apostille a document until you have confirmed the exact format required.

Only the tick status is saved in this browser. Aliyah.org.uk does not receive your checklist progress or ask you to upload personal documents.

While your application is moving…

Life planning can move in parallel.

Research communities, schools, work, housing, healthcare, money, tax, pensions and Hebrew at the right stage—without confusing those jobs with the formal application.

Doing this with children?

Getting-ready paperwork can feel mysterious.

Tell children that grown-ups are collecting information and documents to understand the move. They do not need to see or handle private family records.

The short version

Three things to keep in view

1

Use your case team’s current written list as the controlling checklist.

2

Confirm issue-date windows before ordering time-sensitive records.

3

Paper and electronic apostilles are not interchangeable for every document.

01

Create a document register

  • Document requested and person it relates to.
  • Issuing country and issuing authority.
  • Original, certified copy or digital version required.
  • Translation language and who may certify it.
  • Apostille type, if required.
  • Issue-date limit, upload status and where the original must be shown.
02

Civil records

Birth, marriage, divorce, adoption, death and name-change records often form the identity chain. Order from the correct registry and check whether a full certificate is needed.

03

Police evidence

Follow the exact request for the relevant nation of the UK and any other country of residence. ACRO, DBS and devolved-nation disclosures are different products; one should not be substituted without confirmation.

04

Apostilles

The UK Legalisation Office can legalise certain UK documents. Some records—including UK civil certificates and ACRO police certificates—cannot use the e-Apostille route, so paper requirements matter.

05

Quality check before submission

  • Names and dates are consistent or differences are explained.
  • Every page, reverse side, seal and apostille is scanned.
  • Files have clear names without sensitive data in the filename.
  • The original is stored safely and the upload confirmation is saved.
